The safety and well-being of our members and team members is always our top priority. With this in mind, we want to provide an update related to the re-opening of EMUCU branch lobbies.
Starting Monday, June 15th, the following EMUCU branch lobbies will be accessible by appointment only:
Plymouth Road
William Street
South State Street
Jackson Road
Carpenter Road
Bristol Road
To ensure the health and safety of our members and team members, there will be guidelines in place that we ask you adhere to while visiting our branches, including:
- Face Masks – Please wear a face mask at all times while inside the branch. We can provide a mask if you do not have one.
- Drive-Thru Lanes – If you prefer not to wear a mask, we ask that you please use the drive-thru lanes available at our South State Street, Jackson Road, Carpenter Road and Bristol Road branches.
- Six-foot Distance – Please maintain a safe 6-foot distance between you and others at all times. There will be star graphics on the floor for your convenience marking 6 feet between each star.
Members will not be able to enter the branch lobby without a previously scheduled appointment. You may submit a request to schedule an appointment starting today (6/5), for
June 15th or later.

RECEIVING YOUR CHECK
The first round of economic stimulus checks was scheduled to be issued starting mid-April, for those individuals with direct deposit information already on file with the IRS or Social Security. The issuance of paper stimulus checks will follow, and that process is expected to begin in May and continue throughout the summer.
DEPOSITING YOUR CHECK WHILE SOCIAL DISTANCING
If you are expecting to receive a paper check from the IRS, we want to remind you of the quick and easy ways you can deposit it into your EMUCU account.

The safety of our members, team members and the communities we serve is our top priority. We continue to proactively monitor the Coronavirus situation and are following guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Department of State, and the State of Michigan.
As a reminder, relevant signs of the virus include a cough, fever greater than 100.4 degrees and shortness of breath. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should not go into a branch and contact their medical provider. We are committed to sharing important updates and keeping our members informed. The State of Michigan has a dedicated website to provide updates to the Michigan community at MDHHS Coronavirus. In addition, the health information office at UC Davis developed a helpful video about Coronavirus.
Safeguards regarding the spread of Coronavirus
Person-to-person spread of the Coronavirus in the United States has been detected. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Practice these good prevention strategies:
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer if you don't have soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow and sleeve.
- Stay away from others if you or they are sick; maintain a six-foot distance.
- Clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces.
