FRAUD ALERT - PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

UMCU members are being targeted by scammers pretending to be our fraud prevention team. They’re calling or texting asking you to verify your purchases or provide your digital banking credentials. The fraudsters are then sending a follow up link via text, attempting to steal your digital banking credentials. To capture your information they may ask for credit card numbers, expiration dates, security codes, passwords, etc. This is a scam.

UMCU will not contact you asking for your personal identifying information. If you receive a suspicious text or call, hang up immediately and contact us directly at 800-968-8628 .

How to stay safe:
  • Review your accounts regularly. Check your checking, savings, and credit card activity often. Report anything unusual right away.
  • Never share your username or password. Use strong, unique passwords and always log out after your session.
  • Keep your personal information private. Don’t give out your Social Security number, birth date, or bank info to unsolicited contacts.
  • Be cautious of money-making offers. If you're asked to wire money, buy gift cards, or send payments for a “client” or “supplier,” it’s likely a scam.
  • Verify emails and links. Don’t click on anything suspicious. Hover over links to check their legitimacy before clicking.
Staying alert helps protect you and your finances.
